In conjunction with the published article “EU began to stop money for Bulgaria again” in the newspaper “Now” from June 22, 2010, the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture, which is Managing Authority of Operational Program for the development of sector “Fisheries” states that it has repeatedly indicated the problem with the Audit authority of the operational program and the delay of the process of conformity assessment.
Despite the severity of the backlog in the preparation of conformity assessment, there is no danger Operational Program to be stopped. In correspondence with the European Commission it was always emphasized on the seriousness of the problem with the audit authority for the program and on the delay of the process of conformity assessment, but so far the issue of the suspension of funds under the Operational Program has not been discussed.
The team of the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture hopes that the above mentioned problem will be resolved urgently by the measures taken from the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and this will not deter stakeholders in the sector and NAFA wants to assure them that they will have the full possible support of the administration, under the legislation applicable and wants also to encourage them to apply and to develop their business ideas using the granted financial help from Operational program for the development of the “Fisheries sector”.
Moreover, according to the Indicative Annual Work Program for 2010 MA of OP Development “Fisheries” provides for the opening of two new measures until the end of June, measure 3.4 “Development of new markets and promotional campaigns”, with a total budget of 5.7 mln. Leva.
